now Whiley publishing's attorney sent me an email saying the "fordummies" is a trademark infringement.

I don't know what my rights are and don't know where to start.

that domain is pretty much worthless, hand it over for nothing and count yourself lucky they aren't sueing

Yup. Have to agree with the others. Not only does the name look worthless on its face, but it's also a potential liability as evidenced by the recent communication from "for dummies". So, save yourself from having to pay to renew this horrific name, and cleanse yourself from the mistake of having registered someone elses (potentially) registered mark in the first place.
