Hey everyone,

After lurking and hunting domains for a while, I built something I wish existed when I started.

Namelyt — a browser-based domain scanner optimized for domainers:

  • Real-time RDAP + DNS dual-engine availability checks
  • Filters: CVCV, Dictionary Words, Premium Letters, AABB patterns
  • Supports .com, .net, .io, .ai, .co, .xyz, .org, .co.uk
  • Estimated resale value based on market comparables
  • Favorites portfolio with flip-card appraisal view
  • Background Discovery Scan mode
I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from experienced domainers.

When pricing domains, always research comparable sales. NameBio's database is the best resource. A .com selling for $10K in one niche might sell for $50K in another based purely on industry demand.

Agreed on the development approach. I run a portfolio that includes some review and comparison sites, and the developed ones are worth 10x what the parked ones would fetch.

Worth mentioning: new TLDs (.ai, .io, .xyz) have genuine use cases but they're not investments in the same way .com domains are. End users buy them for projects, not for resale. Price your expectations accordingly.

Hand registration still works if you're creative and fast. Monitor trending topics, new technologies, emerging brands. The first person to register a relevant exact-match name wins.

Good start though. If the tool can reduce false positives and show why a name is interesting, not just that it matches a pattern, it could be useful.

One thing I’d be careful with is making the "estimated resale value" too confident. For available hand-reg names, the gap between pattern quality and real resale demand can be huge.
