How much do the trade shows/auctions cost you?

I was considering going to the Domainer Mardi Gras show in New Orleans next February but just saw the cost. http://domainermardigras.com/?page_id=6

While I'm sure they will get some registrations once an agenda is published, at this time I'm holding off on early registration of $695 for the three-day show. Waiting until the "Day Of" could cost $995.00.

Is this in line with other shows? I haven't been to a show since the adult show in New Orleans in 2000 and that cost me around $100.00 registration plus $100 per night for a friend's condo.

I'm not complaining -- I really want to know. What does it cost (travel excluded) to attend most of the domain trade shows like Traffic or Internext or Geo or whatever?

I dont think those prices look out of line... the one is Niagara was approx 500-600 depending if you signed up early.

Traffic NY cost me I believe 1499 (early registration), 300/night (3 nights), 300 travel, about 500 on other expenses (Patron silver mainly )

So for Traffic shows....I'd say to budget 3-4k...unless the show is in your area...

I noticed the banners here have changed. I hope this doesn't mean DMG didn't get enough feedback. Their website hasn't been updated with even a partial glimpse of what might transpire in February. I know trade shows aren't doing as well as they did a few years ago but I'd really like to see one here in the state where i live succeed.
