Any stats on how many domains are registered?
Is this extension "Working"?

Is it popular for people's names? Like johnsmith.name ?

Sounds kind of funny to me.

it is kinda funny, not too mention unprofessional for most business's, only use is for personal sites, and there arent really that much out there. I'm gonna estimate under a million registrations, although do not have any stats.

Do you think it's a safe assumption that

somename.com will always be worth more than somename.name ?

I'd assume this, but weirder things have happened in the past.

yes; i own one 3 letter .name which i purchased on a whim. i don't see much value however in this extension at this time.

on a misc. note there are many good domains available under the .name extension

GoDaddy just sent me an ad, to purchase myname.name. It seems by the response here that it's a waste of time.

Registering a .name domain is a waste of money, in my opinion.
