How to find # of searches

You can start here:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

You won't get exact numbers but you will get frequencies along with what else people search for when they search for the keyword (like if you put in car, you might get "used car sales", "muscle cars", "car race", "car detailing" etc..).

They probably are referring to;
http://www.wordtracker.com or http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/

Which tries to estimate the number of searches for any keyword you enter. Keep in mind they are not accurate, but will give you a good indication of the popularity of a search term.

Your best bet is to us the adwords tool mentioned above.

Thanks, draggar.

I have used that tool, and I find it somewhat useful, but it doesn't give any specific numbers. I'm looking for a tool I can use to tell whether a specific threshhold, say 100,000 searches per month, has been reached.

Thanks again.

Thanks, ragesw.

I notice their paid versions are pricey. (For me, anyway. I am only a few months into this business and so far I've spent a lot of $$$ acquiring domains, joining this forum, etc., but have not made any money yet, so the price to join those two is prohibitive right now.)

Have you tried their demo versions? If so, do you find them adequate?

Thanks again,

toria.

Thanks, thevirtual.

I have tried to access http://inventory.overture.com dozens of times over the past couple of months, and have never been successful. Just now, when I tried again--after a long delay--I got an error message that said:

Safari could not open the page “http://inventory.overture.com/” because the server stopped responding.

Is it really still up and operational?

Thanks again.

I think the overture tool is no longer maintained. The data provided on the overture site is months old but it was somewhat useful. I am using a different site to get overture search data.
