How to register a dot EDU ?

I wonder how to get a dot edu domain name ?
i know this is reserved for website about education...but what if i have my private school ?

Hi,

You have to be a school that hands out certified degrees recognized by the US educational system. International degrees are mostly accepted, not all. a private scool not atthe university level probably won't qualify, but you can find more information at educause.edu

Also, keep in mind that Educause will not hand out names for generics

IIRC, the original .edu requirement included the stipulation that the institution had to grant accredited 4 year degrees. (I.E. Bachelors or higher)...
