Try and find out as much as you can about the company, see what sort of financial state they are in, etc. Hopefully give you a better idea of why they want the domain, and how much they can seriously afford to pay for it.

Be very carefull as the other guys said. Try and find out more information on the company, if the offer was done via email and from a company called "Opera Engineering" claiming :

Please send me price for your domain.

"I'm very interested in this name.

Did you get offers from other people already?

Our company develops client-server systems and databases in MS SQL and Oracle. Buying and selling domain names is not my main business. Just another way to invest money and make additional income.

Looking forward to do business with you.

Best regards,
Andrew Evensen Ph.D.
Chief Operating Officer
Opera Engineering"

This is a scam. What he will do is ask you to goto a domain appraisal company (which is his) to get an appraisal for $70ish dollars then tell you he is not interested.

Hope This Helps

Kind Regards

I wonder why they've not made an offer via Sedo if they're so interested. Your minimum looks available as for firm very interested in buying this name. Think of potential scam you've got (just a supposition).

Im still with hookah as I said I have had emails from a guy claiming that he wants to buy my domain but didnt trust any domain appraisal services unless it was over $55 which he kindly gives you a link to one he trusts (which is his) Be very wary.

Kind Regards

Hello,

Please send me price for your domain.

We are very interested in this name.

Did you get offers from other people already?

Our company develops client-server systems (Delphi / Interbase), so investing in domain names is not my main business.

also another one to watch out for is the one someone tried to hit me with moments ago.

it was from [email protected]

asking me if i wanted to be a mod. all i had to do was send him $250 and he will make me a premium mod. and i would be getting paid $300 per month

it all started when i was talking to a guy called alex in the chat room. he asked to be added into my msn which his email is [email protected]

do not i repeat do not add this guy

Kind Regards

I put up a post about scam warning signs in the legal section, scam alerts. I put a few but was hoping more experienced members could add to it. Hasn't got any comments though.
