Ok, I can install phpbb hacks and mods but i have a question!

I have a forum that has a a large amount of posts in it. I want to put hacks and mods on it. so I did a safe way by installing a new phpbb forum and added all the hacks and mods to it! Now Is there any way for me to put the old posts, usernames, and infos all in the new forum! or combine them????

Any help will be good! :undecided

That's not 100% correct Stevey. Dependant on the modifications he has installed he will also have to do some database alterations. As it is wise you already have a database backup. If you want you can simply overwrite your current forum files with the old ones however be sure to make sure that with the complete instalation of the modifications you perform any database alterations that are necessary. Otherwise it can and may very well render your entire forum inoperable until the database alterations take place.

The restoration tools inside the phpbb admin panel will ONLY backup and restore the default phpbb tables. If you have made any alterations to your database you will need to make backups and restorations through other means eg: Shell, phpMyAdmin, or etc. What I suggest is taking the backup of your populated database and then re-insert it's data on your destination board and then apply the installation scritps or database alterations that way. It'd most likely be the easiest method for you.
