Hi,
I'd appreciate fellow forum members help in appraising these domain names. I've tried to use some of the estimater sites like Nameboy and Premium Domains but their valuations vary so widly for the same name - Nameboy will say its worth several thousand and Premium will say its worth nothing.

When choosing dropped names I try to look for something that is short, understandable and makes sense both phonetically and logically. Am I going in the right direction or should I be looking for something else?

When I look at key words for one of my names "disney" is a highly seached term and "budget" is a highly searched term but put the two together "budget disney" and you get very few searches on that key word. Does that mean this is a good choice or bad choice?

Well here are some of them. Let me know what you think:
BudgetDisney.com
ClutterTamer.com
DotFather.com
GalacticGear.com
GolfersTips.com
NastyPlayboy.com
SwordSupply.com
TrophyBlonde.com
ActionAuctions.info
AlaskaLoan.info
Bargainbeast.com
CapeCodBeaches.info
DelewareRealty.info
DisneyGuide.info
Emutts.com
ExploreAK.com
GolfAuctions.info
GorillaBid.com
HotGamblingPicks.com
MegaMarketer.com
MuniExpert.com
NLP Toolkit.info
NewMexicoRealty.info
PoundBusters.com
RadioFaith.com
SacredSunday.com
TermiteTroubles.com
ValuePros.info
VoiceOf Alaska.com
YourPerfectDate.com

I'd appreciate any help, resources you can point me to or other assistance. Some people I've spoken to say you should go for the long "sentence" domain names. Others say you should look for general names, others specific. So for instance if you were interested in realty names NewMexicoRealty would be something you would want to snag.

Someone suggested I look at the lists at premiumnames.com. The top names in terms of Ovt.TLD, Google LP, Google TP, and Pagerank don't seem to follow any of those guidlines - they don't seem to be any recognizable word or words, a Google search doesn't show anything for them except for perhaps a specific person's name, many are just it seems made up combinations of letters or numbers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

All the best,
Ted Sudol

These appear to be the most brandable,

bargainbeast.com
swordsupply.com
TermiteTroubles.com

$500-$1000 each

The Disney domains are nothing but trouble as they clearly infringe on Disney's TM. Also, I dont put too much value in 2 or 3 word .info's, It may be a good idea to seek appraisals on 1 or 2, as it should net more appraisals...Good luck with them.

Hi Raider,
Did you read the entire post there were quite a few domain names in the original post. Are you saying that there should only be one domain name in a post? I'll read the rules again. But here are the domain names in case you missed them. If I am mistaken I appologize and will post one at a time.
All the best,
Ted

Hi,
Thanks for your help. Since in additon to our house in NJ we built a house in Alaska that was going to be the home of my second podcast now that I have the one at www.goldcoastbuzz.com up. But I was recently able to snag VoiceOfAlaska.com and that's where I'll probably put the 2nd one. Thanks again fo your help. I'm a little bid confused about the valuation, being relatively new at DN. So one of the people that has been helping me suggested this forum would be a wealth of knowlegable people and information. It is I joined at the platinum level today. Thanks
All the best,
Ted Sudol

Thanks Raider for your appraisal.

I had a question for you. I think you are correct in saying the Disney names could be considered infringing on Disney TM. Yet I'm aware of several non Disney company sites that offer Disney advice, Disney gear, etc. How do they get away with using the Disney name in their URL without problems with Disney? I know that Disney is aware of them because of their popularity.

One of the most highly sought after domains that recently dropped was DisneyResorts.com Why would DNers be fighting over it if it was certain to cause problems with Disney?

Thanks for you help. Anyone else that wants to post an opinion or information on this issue would be appreciated.

All the best,
Ted Sudol
