Its good to see people dealing with each other straight up and business-like... at least you two guys are. Mix-ups are bound to happen in this business, and it is important that people keep their heads and not try to take advantage of a situation. I had a deal go sour a while back where having a well written contract didn't do me any good. The seller failed to do a lot of what was in the contract, but I didn't discover the ommissions until it was too late to turn back. He then conveniently went bankrupt and so there was nothing I could do.
A contract is a good start, though. At least in my case it has helped me validate my position in the matter with his former clients.
