Just picked up Inventions.net fairly cheap at Sedo. Regged in May 1996. Overture shows 104,100 searches last month.

Any thoughts on value? Obvious uses for a patent attorney..

Chris :)

Value to a reseller is likely to turn around a quick $3000. I'd shop it around to some potential end users.

You can appraise it better than me. But it's a great name. Since it has the .net extension I would be creative with the use. Maybe make it technology or internet oriented. Something that makes it unique from what people would expect at inventions.com.

Nice find. I feel that it's worth the work to try to find an end user - you'd get the most out of a larger patent attorney firm or law firm with a large IP practice. A solo operating patent attorney probably isn't what you want. Look in the Arlington, Virginia area and/or Silicon Valley. Here is where to start your search. Most of the big firms have offices in Arlington, VA, close to the USPTO. (Go a directory up to find firms in other states.)

If you're not sure if a company is big or small, compare to Google Map aerial shots to figure out if it's a residence. Many patent attorneys (esp in Arlington) work from home.

Good luck :)

Patenting invention ideas is a pretty big business I believe. I would price it at $15,000-$30,000

Out of curiosity, can you say how much you got it for? PM even?

Thanks for the opinions, everyone! :)

Since a few people have asked - the price was in Euros, but worked out to be about $3600.
