"macbook" doesnt have an "i" in it... perhaps thats why Mobi and a couple options that didn't fit the mold were considered, to stand apart from the sea of other apple products.
 
Reminds me of the Colbert bit where he said they picked the better name for the iPad, where the alternative was the tampod.

looking back it does..going forward sometimes isnt fast enough for certain things.

i remember when people including myself said "we'll see in 5 years"... well future, here i am. ;)
