A small query

Will a Domain xx-xx.xxx be considered as a 4 or 5 character domain?

and what will be the acronymn for the same ?
i.e. for ABC = LLL, AB1 = LLN

so for xx-xx will it be LL-LL or LLHLL

IMO 5 character or 4 character hyphenated.

For example:

HomeSales.com is not the same as Home-Sales.com

Yes - a hyphen is a character and is "counted".

That's what is confusing now more

I searched SEDO for domains with maximum of 3 characters

This is a copy-paste of the search result.

2vh.com Make Offer - -
noq.com Make Offer 22 -
l-p.com Make Offer 7 -
x-m.com Make Offer 5 -
x-p.com Make Offer 10 -
hw3.com Make Offer 2 -
bl3.com Make Offer - 54
dm7.com Make Offer - -
e94.com Make Offer - 21
p5b.com Make Offer - -
r0m.com Make Offer - -
c-c-s.com Make Offer - 1
c-d-n.com Make Offer - -
c-g-i.com Make Offer - 1

if we see, they have removed hyphen from the domainname in taking character count!

So, there is some disconnect among us on Hyphens ?

As someone who quite likes hyphens (shock, horror) I can see that c-c-s can't possibly be regarded as the same as ccs. It's a mathematical deduction simple enough for even me. What matters is surely what potential buyers think, not Sedo. :)

i totally agree with the perceptions each individual / entity has regarding hyphen.

so, it's coming up like domainers count them in the length of the domain
and the companies do not ..

wow!
