I have a good friend who owns a ringtone website. It is not a typical ringtone website. It has all original content created by its 200K+ users.

Stats:

The site gets over 30k uniqs a day
It ranks top 5 for many MONSTER search terms.
The website domain is branded meaning its a word that is just made up. The word had over 11k searches on overture last month. The website has also had a lot of national exposure.

Income:

The site generates over 160k/month income and is a premium/custom adsense publisher.

My friend wants to sell the site but doesnt have a clue who to contact that would be interested to buy it.

My question is what would this site be worth ballpark wise?

and would he be smarter to try to contact jamster or a big ringtone site or would someone at a forum have the kind of money the site is worth?

Thanks for your time!

Well, first of all, if you don't know what you are doing, be careful. $160K a month is good money, and the site's worth should reflect not only that, but the fact that it is growing as well.

Can you say what the site is? I personally would suggest going to Jamster and trying to sell it to them. There are people here with that kind of money though, so you never know.

If it's a direct competitor of Jamster I would definitely talk to them since they would be very interested in his customer/visitor base. I know what you're talking about, cause I'm in the mobile business myself and I know the numbers that go around. :p

Your friend might want to find a good domain broker who
has industry contacts and can put the word out, and field
offers. I think this site must be worth $2.5M +. There is no
sign of slowdown in mobile phones and what they will be
able to do. good luck!
