RBD -- I think you've got a goldmine. While an appraisal at this point would be moot (the expected affinity to this term is uncertain), I can certainly say that the value of these domain based merely on future speculation should be in the $xxx range. Hold onto them for a year. If this term catches on, you could be looking at $xx,xxx domains.

I'm not an expert in the appraisal field, but I think they are good names. Even if the term doesn't catch on for future bloggers, there are dancers who call themselves kloggers..so I do believe there may be some value here.

The CURRENT value of these domain names are $0. I don't care how big the term COULD get...CURRENT google and overture results speak for themselves. Any term can be developed and made popular. How could you possibly say klogger.com is a gold mine when no one knows what a "klogger" is at the moment? I see less than 1000 google results for the term itself. At the moment they are worthless...that's the bottom line.

Yeah, I guess that's the core difference between how different domainers value their (and other peoples') domains. One group price domains based on the domains potential ability to appreciate in value over time -- either through traffic or inherent name value. Other people only think about how much the domain is worth right now due to current traffic. The former group may be called "domain prospectors", the others you might call "domain traders".

It was the domain prospectors that bought up domains before the Internet became popular, and are now millionaires. If you wait until the traffic is already there you will either be too late, or pay a hefty sum for the domain -- to the one who beat you there -- the domain prospector.

Of course, the domain traders have their virtues too -- for one, they maintain a much lower cost to maintain their inventory, as they rarely must pay to renew a domain. But the greater reward lies in anticipating demand beforehand.

Buying these domains is like buying a lotto ticket after the first ball is drawn and it's on the card - still worthless, but a lot closer to winning.

It's a risk/reward biz, and you choose how much risk you're willing to go up against.

My advice if you are trying to speculate on what new "names" will be popular in the future is to look at where technology is going. Don't try to "copy" existing words or change them in a clever way. You'd be wasting your money.
(only exception would be that if you added "Forum" to a popular word...that wouldn't be such a terrible investment)

This is where I believe technology going...

1) Mobile devices...Mobilility=Freedom ...
2) Open Source coding will make a rebound...A New Linux will be born...I'm betting next year
3) Tracking...things...Who..what..where...why...when. "Right now is where my fricken shoes, @%*(#&$ anyhow!"

Check out the technology sites..Sometimes they are the best resource to find "untapped" domain real estate.

P.S I was hoping "Kloggers.com" would be a good typo for you, but "k" isn't anywhere near "b" on the keyboard. d

Klog sounds like "clog". I don't see much value without a really active market.

thanks for your comments izopod but just to point out "klog" is not a word I have changed or tried to copy. Its been out there for awhile
