i hate to stoke the fires of the conspiracy theorists among us, but why is it that some outbid notices at NW sure do seem to get to 3-4 hours after the auctions ends..

anyone else have this problem.

i leave at 12:10 thinking i am the highbid and then Poof!!, another bid comes in.

Bid $10K proxy and you won't have that problem d:-)

Why not just check the site?

I wasn't receiving the outbid notices at all for a while... maybe it was some spam filter along the way. I'm getting them again now, but unless you are using Outlook with Exchange so you get new mail instantly, the only way to be sure is to sit and pound the refresh button toward the end of the auction.

I've had problems in the past not receiving outbid notices at all and it's very easy to forget. The only way to really be sure is to put in a proxy bid and also to watch around drop time. If someone wants a name bad enough they will outbid you. Some people just like to chip away at proxy bids. And just when you thought you pushed the envelope and your bank account at NW......here comes Pool and even more people come out of the woodwork to drive things skyward.

I'm seeing activity from at least 7-10 bidders on mediocre names.
Sometimes it's best to just gracefully bow out, but if not make sure you keep watch.
