linux-box.org

I just picked this one up. I realize this name isn't going to be worth a huge sum but at the same time thought it to have a bit of charm.

In the Linux world, .org is pretty much on par with .com and can even be prefered in many cases. The dash isn't helpful but from a search engine point of view it should be fine as "Linux Box" is a popular search. It seems the name used to be a Linux news site and e-mail provider- so maybe some traffic? We'll have to see.

com/net/info/biz/us/ws taken

At the very least I have a nice hostname for my computer :D

I would strongly recommend using it for your own Linux-related project instead of selling it as Linus Torvalds has made it clear that cybersquatting involving the registered trademark of "linux" is not acceptable:

It makes a good hostname as you said. ;)

Good advice,
I don't think I fit very well with the definition of a cybersquatter- I'm pretty sure this is the first name that I have reg'd that would possibly have TM issues. (well.. wwe.info but I owned that before the WWE was the WWE) Not that I'm too worried about getting sued by Linus, he has kernels to make :D

None the less, I'm happy with my purchase.
