LLL.in/3L.in's - Are they Worthless?

A while ago there was a hype and selling for $20+ each... what's their value now?

I have seen them for $1 each

lll.in seems to be trading at many ranges.

I will say I have a double premium starting with x that has received a $100 and I have told him my bottom is $200

Some names are definitely better than others and some of the lowest of low are trading below the .in registration fee.

Ugh, I guess this was a "fad" .. unless like abc.in , most are worthless :/

The better LLL.in have value (and mine get traffic). Last year there was a registrar sale that had .in first year registrations priced at $5. With that, all the LLL.in were registered. Close to a year later, renewals are around $15/domain and the economy is poor. The buyout is still holding, but it's unlikely to hold for the poor combinations. Currently, the price of a poor quality domain is about:

Value = $13 - ($13 * ((365 - number of days until renewal)/365))

Minimum price for all premium LLL.in combination (composed only of the letters abcdefghilmnoprst) appears still to be from mid-xx to high-xx. Lowest sale price I have observed in that class over the last thirty days has been $65. Current minimum offering for that class appears to be $90. I think this class will continue to be depressed if the buyout is unable to hold -- though I think $50 is likely to be the floor.

Good, premium LLL .ins are good investments. Names like yxj (sorry Hurley) are not.
