Looking for auto reg

Any services or programs to auto reg domains?

Not yet. Such system is very vulnerable to hacker. Besides, Godaddy has a quick-checkout system already in place, right?

Then again, it would be great if we can just text the domain we want to register via blackberry to godaddy, then they use the credits in our account to reg on our behalf.

Actually, auto registration works differently and it is being used all the time.

AllDomainRegistrar offers autoregistration services. The desired Domain is monitored and if possible registered manually. Or just send an email to [email protected] all happens via email. You just need an account with a valid email address. Is it this service you are looking for?

I want to add domains to be monitored and registered automatically at a good registrar as soon as the domain is deleted, not manually.

The registration is done manually, all the rest happens automatically, as someone already mentioned, this can be a security issue to do the registration automatically. That's why we decided to do it this way.

I can do manual registration myself. Manual registration is too slow. I am only interested in AUTO registration.

You basically want the same software SnapNames, NameJet et.al. are using? That's worth thousands, if not millions... I can imagine it would also require lots of hardware, different IPs, etc.

No, this is a very simple program to auto register domains.

(Addendum: my tool uses Dynadot's API. They're not a particularly well-known register but they're my favorite and have received excellent reviews over the past several years. eNom and Moniker also have APIs but obtaining access to them is a little more challenging.)

Is it very difficult to automatically scan the domain and register the domain as soon as it drops? There are several services for this (Premiumdrops) but they are not functional as far as I know.

Not at all. There's a piece of publicly available software (not mine) which does this already but costs $79. PM me and I'll point you the site.

I've also written a drop-catching script in perl which I use privately. It basically allows you key in a bunch of domains and weights, like this:

domain1.com: 15
domain2.com: 10
domain3.com: 5

The script then runs in a loop delivering REGISTER requests through Dynadot's API. In the above example, it sends twice as many requests for domain2.com as domain3.com and three times as many for domain1.com as domain3.com. When it detect it's failed to catch a domain, it removes the domain from its weight table and stops trying to register it. The script can also load balance across multiple Dynadot API keys to pump more REGISTER requests through. Each Dynadot API key allows roughly one REGISTER request every 7 seconds. I'd be willing to give you a copy of this script free provided that you don't share it, but you'll need to install ActivePerl on your computer to run the script.
