Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.

Personally I would like to know who came up with this and why

that person is not running the country.

Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your head)

1. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the

Area code

2. Multiply by 80

3. Add 1

4. Multiply by 250

5. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number

6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

7. Subtract 250

8. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer ??

Let x = your 3 digits

Here's what you have after each step:

1. x
2. 80x
3. 80x + 1
4. 20,000x + 250
5. 20,001x + 250
6. 20,002x + 250
7. 20,002x
8. 10,001x

Does that help clarify why you get your number, then a 0, then your number again? (Yeah, I know, it takes some of the mystery away ....)

Hey, I only taught middle-school math ... so I'm not much on quantum mechanics, but if you need to find any least common multiples, let me know. :)

P.S. I don't think CERN will wipe out civilization. Stay optimistic!

Thank you for your kind offer. I'll sure keep it in mind. I removed my above question.
