The situation seems to be a little bit embarrasing for Microsoft.

why would it be embarassing for Microsoft? Unless your speaking from the perspective of someone without the knowledge of how it was supposed to be for the Vista download?

MS contracted a third party site to handle the downloads and key stuff. That site failed... or wasn't working...it was wonky. Microsoft had, within 3 hours of VB2 release, redirected the download and key dispersal to their own site and servers.

Sounds to me like Microsoft was on the ball, something for a company to boast about, not be embarrased about.

I did not know about them fixing the problem in three hours, that is pretty good.

I think someone at Microsoft should have just called up Chris on the phone, thanked him for his help, and let him know that they have everything under control now.

I made my comment after reading the article, which contains these phrases:

"kinks"
"overwhelming"
"unable to gain access to Microsoft's download servers"
"download woes that many people were experiencing"
"Microsoft was worried"
"the Problem"

Temporarily clear your mind of what you may already know about Vista or this downloading situation and read the article.

I think that my original statement about the article makes sense:
"The situation seems to be a little bit embarrassing for Microsoft."
