my question is: why did you buy leads.mobi for 7k ?

With 7k I would buy many other names to invest.

If you say you don`t plan to sell it then why did you buy it?

^ Thank you for clarifying.

I bought it to develop. Not for resale... not now anyway.
It is a niche that I understand & I feel comfortable that I can earn my investment back.

I appreciate your input & understand that you would have invested differently. Respectfully, it isn't required that we agree to both be successful.

Thanks, my question was not a criticism but pure interest.
There are many members here that won`t buy .mobi at all, imagine for 7K.
I guess you are confident enought of its success and I hope you`ll be right since I`m investing on .mobi as well but not that amount.

Best regards

It's cool.

I think .mobi has legs. But if we wait to find out for sure, authoritative names will be selling for several times what they are now. I think loan.mobi sold for about 4k? Bet it couldn't be bought for anywhere near that now... I haven't tried though.

There is always the risk that .mobi will flop. No problem if you know the risk going in & aren't betting the mortgage money.

Best,

Eric

As is true in many things... the greater the risk the greater the potential reward. I'm not risking a large percentage of my total holdings on .mobi, but I am getting on board and going for the ride. The .mobi train seems to be picking up momentum at every bend.

This sale sounds great!

Yesterdag I bought my first PDA (MDA Vario II)
I have unlimited access to the web on this device... WOW! While I am surfing on the mobile web I understand more & more it has f*ck*ng big potential!!!

You know what sucked:
- If you type google.mobi, you get redirected to http://mobile.google.com/pda Google is not promoting dotmobi with this...
- DNforum.com was very difficult te read...

What about hotmail.mobi,yahoo.mobi, aol.mobi.. these companies are not supporting .mobi too. Atleast not yet.

I've not gambled heavily unlike some people on the forum, i think i have spent roughly $4-5000 but some peeps have invested alot more than that! But i'm now sitting and waiting the next load of premiums to get released, then i think we may get the idea on how the .mobi will go, but i do see .mobi as an investment, i for one have before the invention of .mobi been fustrated by un compatible websites and believe if .mobi sorts this out, with the right marketing and publicity it could spiral no way but up! Which means there may be a few people on this forum much richer than they are now! But it could go the other way if the .mobi bigwigs leave it to chance the .mobi will be taken up in open arms by the public. I for one only knew about .mobi 3 weeks before the landrush period! And none of my mates had ever heard of .mobi even now if it wasn't for me talking about it.

I have bought 10 .mobi's. IMO I would rather loose the 2 years reg fee's on the domains then to have completely missed the boat if Mobi works out.

If you've speculated on BS .com's before why not take a chance on Mobi :)

I totally agree... you still have a chance to get a few very nice names. If indeed .mobi does continue to roll and gets big, you will thank yourself.

Aggie,

Spread the good word!!!

Warren Buffett has been at less financial risk than anybody on earth during th last 50-60 years. He has the second most money as any human being in the history of the planet. Risk and Reward is often misunderstood.

Let's face it, any domainer with an ounce of the entrepreneurial spirit will have at least one .mobi in their portfolio by now. If not, I suggest they re-think it. How many .mobi detractors lost their shirts on crap IDNs, .biz, .ws etc. and now have the audacity to mock .mobi? Quite a few I expect. A troll through some historic posts might be interesting.

Amen :drum:

I'd rather be looking for value in unregged .mobi than unregged .com at this stage of the game.
