In total, 148 domains were purchased during the auctions. The average buyer spent over $20,000 during the two events hosted by Moniker.

I can see where many bids below reserve have been made on my names
Yet when I look at the public list on snap, the minimum bid appears to the reserve or higher

As a seller If you view your auction in your seller dashboard you will be able to see the high bid. All you need to do is login>click “MY ACCOUNT”> Click “SELLER DASHBOARD” and then click “ACTIVE AUCTIONS.

From there you will see the Domain, Number of bids, High Bid, Reserve, Start, End and Status.

The reason for the bids under minimum is that because Snapnames Backorder business is successful, people place bids on these domains even before they are in auction. We allow these to carry through and notify these individuals that the domain is now available.

We recognizing this is causing a little confusion but the explanation I’ve given should clear this up for you and trust we are improving all this for future events.

So all the bids on 9/24 are from Snapnames backorder bids and not from Extended Auction?

Not all bids are back orders but many are at this stage. There are already many names that exceeded the reserves. So buyers are in and bidding right now. Buyers set up watch lists and can see which names have met reserve by adding names the watch list and then clicking on "Download a list of your active auctions" in addition if a buyer enters a bid they will immediately get a pop up message showing the reserve has not been met, or Reserve has been met, and they get online and email notifications when they get out bid. As with all online type auctions the real sales take place in the final hours and minutes. When there is heavy bidding the auctions get extended until there is only 1 High bidder left.

As mentioned before we are adding additional enhancements to make the Moniker and Snapnames Extended auctions easier to follow as a seller, buyer, and viewer and these enhancements will be available for our future auctions starting in January 2009.

However the early results of this current auction are very good, we have many buyers through SnapNames involved in the bidding and expect a lot of names will be sold at fair prices.

I wonder if one sale will be of a left-over live name that now the the reserve is exposed has found a buyer?

Agreed the three months allows us time to make the enhancements and yes yes.
Yes, we will see some names that were offered in the live sell now in the extended, although the auctioneer does indicate /reveal the reserve in the live auction as part of the process to solicit bids. So many interested buyers were already aware of the reserves once the names failed to sell in the live auction. Yes we will exceed 1% of 2700 by a large margin. We expect to sell 5-15% of them. It would be nice to see some big sales as well.

I have a question. If a domain has been moved to GoDaddy twenty days ago, and someone buys it at Traffic (before the list of accepted names came out), how does Moniker handle the fact that it can't be moved for another 40 days to Moniker?

What is your normal procedure regrading the auction transactions:
- What buyer/seller should do? would you contact them and let them know the procedure?
- Time frame to complete the transaction - assuming that the name is at Moniker.

I know many of our members either had the name sold or won from the auction so your answer would be appreciate!

The auction close process for the Moniker run traffic auctions began this week and buyers and sellers were notified by email. In regard to the Snapnames /Moniker Extended auction, the buyers are notified automatically through SnapNames and the sellers will be sent instructions tonight on how to withdrawal funds if the names are at Moniker as registrar, and or how to transfer the names and get paid after we receive the names into Escrow.

If you are a seller and your names are at moniker already you may be able to withdrawal funds now by logging into your Snapnames account and then going go to "Seller Dashboards". If the funds are available for withdrawal you will be able to make the withdrawal by Wire, Paypal etc.
