If I registered KraftMozzarella.com - I will have a problem. The TM case you had posted first, looked like "vallelata" was the issue, not the Mozzerella part. The Italian government takes thing seriously when it comes to there exports - like "Buffalo Cheese" or Chianti. Ever notice the serial number on a bottle of Chianti Classico or any other DOC or DOCG wine?

mozzarella can be trademarked, just like any word can be trademarked.

there are trademarks for just about any generic word, like golf, food, pizza, shoes.

so if you own golf.com, food.com etc, it doesnt mean any company with that trademark can take it off you!
