Clarification:

I do not own or plan to own this one. It was open for reg.

I am curious given the existance of an mtv2 channel (or special programming?) in addition to mtv, from what I understand.

Be careful reg'ing this one as MTV has a nearly completed US Trademark. Note MTV2 is included. Here is the info -

Word Mark MTV MTV MUSIC TELEVISION MTV.COM MTV2 360. Goods and Services IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES IN THE NATURE OF AN ONGOING TELEVISION PROGRAM FEATURING MUSIC. Mark Drawing Code (3) DESIGN PLUS WORDS, LETTERS, AND/OR NUMBERS Design Search Code 260107 Serial Number 76273086 Filing Date June 18, 2001

P.S. To do research on trademarks this website link is much easier to remember than the complex govt url -

http://www.patentandtrademarkoffice.com/

What happens if the US Trademark is completed and you own a domain containing (part of) it?
Thx

You'll probably get a cease and desist letter from their attorney if not sued right away.
