my earnings is falling down

if any of you have sedopro and look at your partner stats ( if you have recruited any new users ), that will tell you how much you are losing, compared to the month of august.

This situation gave me pause today when deciding what I should bid up to for todays auctions.

The idea of using "x" number of months of earnings/projected earnings per month as a multiple falls apart when PPC providers start cutting their payouts in half like this (if not by more).

If Sedo gets away with this what provider will be next? I definately don't want to be guessing at 5 years of earnings on a name and having it take 10-15 years to pay itself off.

An even worse day today in terms of revenue. But wait, there is always the weekend!

My psychic abilities tell me your domains will get another 30-40% hit over the weekend

After sedo´s announcment on the 18th of last month, my earnings jumped more than 30% for the last 12 days of august. Today I checked my earnings for this month, about 25% drop. What the hell!!!!!!

This is something that indeed has very serious implications for domains that maintain a strong and steady amount of traffic but their revenue is decimated by the parking provider's extreme PPC fluctuations. The impact is even more when the domains are brandable and/or generic.

today i have some time... check out my sedo account. i am shocked. coming to dnforum and see if there are any similar experience... a thread dedicated totally to what i wanted to post.

Indeed for the later period of August when sedo introduce their new landing page system, my daily revenue up by approx 25% due to more click thru.

But ever since, the cost per click is down almost 80% for most of my domains.
Starting from Sept, i got the shock of my life. The daily revenue decrease approx 40% from original approx daily revenue (not comparing with the boost during the later Aug period).

Previous cost/click range from 0.06 - 1.00, now it is mostly at 0.02 - 0.10

it is weird that sedo keep claiming that its clients' earnings are improving and all i can see is that everyone here is posting about revenue loss not revenue increased.

if sedo's new system means have to keep re-optimize domains every few days to maintain revenue, with their 24 hours or more keyword approving system, then this supposedly new "better" system is not suitable for large domain portolio owner.

i have started moving away some of the most affected domains to test out at other parking site.

i thought after so many years, sedo would have been stable and becomes one of the better parking company. Now it seems that they are becoming one of those inferior parking company.

Perhaps with the new feed system, sedo is earning more revenue as there could be many domains with viagra, gambling, diet, loans, (commerical domains).

But i'm sure there are many non-commerical domains parked at sedo moving out from sedo as sedo is paying lower rate with the new feed.

I've already moved my top grossing domains to NameDrive. The rest will follow later this week.

You'd think the least Sedo would do after responding a few times that with the new system its more important than ever to optimize your keywords, is make sure that all new suggested keywords are approved ASAP. I put in a few on Thursday and they still haven't gone through.

theo, move your domain over to trafficz or goldkey for example and you can find out exactly which ads (position wise) are getting clicked on... if you see #1, #5 and #7 for example... then there is your answer. the cpc varies greatly every 2 positions or so, sometimes even exponentially if the advertisers are "big players" so you can make an educated guess as to whats going on.

one day two ppl click on ppc ads #4 and #9

one day three people click on #2 and #3

etc...

weird after a terrible couple of weeks today (and its a saturday) is my best day ever lets hope as well for the week to come :)
Am I the only one experiencing this

The problem is not the traffic for me.My problem is that I earn 0.67/click from 1.43 in just 8 days and it continues to fall.

To give you an example about how much of a hit my top domain took in the last 2 weeks with Sedo, I made today the same total amount of money without it at Sedo as yesterday. Parked at NameDrive, the clickthrough rate went up from 35% to 45% and comparable revenue. It will take me a while to transfer and optimize all 650+ of my names to NameDrive or elsewhere but frankly I see no light at the end of the tunnel with Sedo.

Today I have started to shift my names as well out of sedo!

Today is one of the worst days in my sedo´s PPC history. 70+ domains most of them quality domains, EARNINGS: 0.07€. I´ve been with sedo for the last 3 years and never thought about changing to another PPC company. If sedo continue their recent rhythm for the next week, I am outta there.

Here's something i don't get:

if i look at my domains through

http://www.sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?showuser=xxxx

the uniques/month is quite a bit higher for each domain than what is shown me when looking at my domains through either "domain management", "parking optimization" or the for sale page (the latter 3 all show the same uniques).

Anyone has an idea why that is ?

You are correct, it seems the "showuser" method is live whereas the management page displays the totals minus the last (current) date. I might be wrong.

BTW is Sedo thinking to pay the august earnings?

I'm certainly not flaming you, I am simply pointing out that your posts were irrelevant to this thread... You said yourself you do not park with Sedo....

Being a customer of Sedo does not help this thread!!!!

And your assurances of knowing more about "business" than me are definately unfounded... I'm a qualified chartered accountant, which in the US is a CPA, so I think I know a bit more about business than yourself... It's my job to know... but let's not get in to a pissing contest....

If you do not like unfavourable replies in threads, then do not get involved in threads that have no relevance to you... So, once agian I will say, please go away....
You're confused - you're actually a complete newbie dickhead. If the mods were actually doing their job properly on this board you'd be banned already. It never ceases to amaze me that someone like yourself crawls out of nowhere and starts lecturing long-term members about how wonderful you are. Admittedly it's funny in a pathetic kind of way, but ultimately irritating.

Anyway, I'd suggest that it's just the usual August/September slowdown that we see every year. My revenue fluctuates about 50% between the Northern hemisphere's Summer and Winter.

It does pain me when I see $5+ bids in overture bidtool, of which I see $0.50 after overture and the PPC provider take their cut. I'd like to see a revolution in this industry that brings the advertiser one step closer to the traffic provider.
