Paramount is known for aggressively protecting their IP assets. If you bought it as an "investment" be prepared for an exit strategy, e.g. what will happen when Paramount lawyers contact you with regards to the name. The fact that you work on the movie could also endanger your work status.

There is no set time limit in how late they can come and claim the domain. And in fact, once you put time and effort and add value to the name, that'd be the worst time to lose it.

Not a good investment in my opinion.

They were not interested because

A) the previous owner was most likely using the domain for something completely unrelated to the movie
and
B) they didn't feel like the domain was necessary for the movie.

However, now that you blatantly said why you purchased the domain and what your intentions are, they certainly will care about the domain and most likely come after you for it.

Almost any name can be treated as a generic term e.g. this particular one could be developed as a sex/health/relationships guide web site.

However, from the point you disclose intent to use as an upcoming movie spin-off site, things get messy. I am sure that by working on the movie got you all excited, however I would not want to be associated with it.

Maybe contacting the Paramount IP attorney and offering the domain for free would be a real job investment.

Thats a great idea, I will discuss the domain with them, since im friends with them and see if they have any interest in the domain.
