Pool.com got suprnova.com for me (well, we went to an auction) :)

It was having a snap on it, also was backordered on godaddy, and a bid on NW.

This is my first experience with Pool.com, and I am very satisfied because I did not pay too much, considering that the name gets high type-in traffic (1100+ results on Overture with the extension), and it´s very targeted traffic for my downloads site.

typo of SuperNova.com
there are companies who wouldn't bother to recover your cost but will sue you for damages, and you can end up with $100,000 in fines. It's an obvios cybersquatting if you point their domain to their competitor - kazaa, I would definitely sue you for $100k if I was the decision maker at supernova.

If I got the domain I would point it to non-optimizing PPC page, if you asked me.

amatuerpages.com is pointed to amateurpages.com. This is completely legal.
It's not the same if I pointed amatuerpages.com to their competitor, say amateurgirls.com which would be a clear cybersquatting, imo.

It would be legal to point the typo to sypernova.com's affiliate program, but they don't seem to have one

Actually the traffic comes from the domain name "suprnova.org", people types the .com instead of the .org (check the overture results for suprnova.org) That´s why suprnova.com gets more results than supernova.com

SuprNova.org is a community of file sharing. Tons of downloads.

I own a tutorial site of file sharing, how to burn cds, compress music, etc. so that name´s traffic is perfect for me.

About the affiliate program advice, well I know a domainer who almost got sued for pointing amaon.com to Amazon´s affiliate program, so I don´t even consider to do that.

Yakov ... you might want to get a second legal opinion on the above.

You need a new opinion.

Pointing to affiliate program = proffiting from trademark.

illegal

Well,

I am just correcting false information.

What if he does go do this and he gets a C&D then gets sued $5,000 for losses to the company?

This could have been avoided if he wasnt provided with inaccurate info.

Thanks guys.

Hey Yak, take it easy man :) I really appreciate your opinion, as I hope you can appreciate your other colleagues advices.

I know you have TM-typos (such as disny.com) names pointing to non-optimized PPC pages, that´s why I consider your suggestion, also please keep in mind the advices of other members about pointing typo traffic to the original names affiliate program.

Well, I will prepare my site for SuprNova.com :) I was checking SuprNova.org content and it looks like that community is growing every day ;)

Thanks again
