Just curious as to what you all thought of mysecondlife.com

Value that is... (and if you want to comment on the site, that is fine too ;))

Google rank of 6 (or 4, depends on how you look at it with or with the www)

Alexa ranking of 1,794,039 over last 3 months
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/mysecondlife.com

I've had the site up for about 6 months and it allows users (currently just over 1200) to upload their own locations, browse and search through SecondLife locations, rate them, rank them and ultimately teleport directly to them in SL.

Front end is done in Flex, middle layer is AMFPHP and backend is MySQL.

Peace,

KJG

It's always tough to appraise a website because there are a lot of unknowns like how much was spent on development & marketing, the extent of traffic it receives and the revenue it rakes in. But I'll give it a try.

From a domainer's perspective, at first glance, the domain could be considered trademark infringement on SecondLife.com. But because your site offers an add-on/service that benefits the game, I don't think you have anything to worry about there. MySecondLife.com also has a Google Pagerank of 6, which definitely adds to your site's value.

In terms of overall value, I'd say anywhere from mid $xx,xxx to high $xx,xxx. Nice site!

--- I took this in to account prior to even picking up the domain. My intent was always to make it a fansite or add-on/service site like you stated...and SL has a fansite toolkit that I've followed so there won't be any problem. Thanks for the comments.

Could be a killer personal blog/blog service domain too.

Actually, with so many companies now developing marketing avenues for SL, you could target that market as well...
sweet domain --- I would suggest continued development for another year and suck it for all its worth...and sell with a smile

Sure it does. I use nothing but Firefox and the page rank shows as 6 when you type mysecondlife.com and 4 when you type www.mysecondlife.com. Not sure the reason for the variance but the rank shows up fine. Firefox version 2.0.0.13.

Alexa rank is better by 50% - now ranked 978,187
(ranked 228,373 within the United States...)

But the discrepancy between the google rank of 4 and 6 has worked out against my favor and I'm ranked 4 with and without the www now... not sure what caused that.

Anyway, traffic and membership is going up up up...

I'm going to continue to enhance the site to improve the inbound links...

Although I'm not really keen on letting the domain/site go at this point, anyone interested in potentially purchasing the domain/site can feel free to contact me with offers.
