Hi there,

I am a little surprise that nobody have mentioned anything about name.com here. They are offering $5.99 for domain registrartion for the first year. I just register a name for fun. But it somehow reminded me the horror when I take advantage of registerfly's $4.99 domain transfer program which I ended up losing more than I would have spent.

Check it out... I think it is the cheapest for .com domain registration so far.

I think that's below what registrars pay ICANN.. so what's the catch? :)

The catch is taking a loss to acquire a subscriber base.

$7.99 .com renewal. I'm a big fan of their interface, very pleasant and easy to use.

Not sure about the people running it though, their FAQ was out of date last time I checked and support failed to answer my email.

That's what you pay for...

Probably run by three people. The owner/manager, secretary/accounting, and customer/tech support.

I met the people who run Name.com at DomainFest in Hollywood... they are good people and a legit company.

They are not doing the 5.99 offer anymore I believe but still a great registrar with one of the fastest and best administation panels I have seen.

I have about 70 names with them. Great interface, fast registration, good payment options and i needed support twice and probelms where solved within 12 hours.

They are still doing the 5.99 registration.

I too got a few domains registered there, but i am little doubtful about registering good domains with Name.com. But i agree they have got a great administration panel.
