Yeah, I let out a sigh when we didn't get that one. We got the consolation prize (CelebrityPokerTour.com) which isn't even close.

Though we did get UniversityOfMiami.com and lovelace.com today, which seem to have a lot of interest, you're right, CelebrityPoker.com was the whale today.

Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you :)

Doesn't have to have links, its pure poker typeins as shown by the overture count. Typeins of course being better than links, so its worth big bucks if used correctly.

I don't really understand the concept. Was it a reality TV show or something? A already branded company?

"Celebrity Poker" - A site for celebs to meet up and play poker together? lol

Yes and I'm sure those 2 will be bid out of sight because payment isn't required at Enom and we'll see them next week in the public auctions.

When is Enom going to get legit and either require payment or ban people that don't pay from the auctions.

Or is it Enom themselves bidding up the names so they go public and have more bidders?

The type-in traffic is likely a result of the TV reality show with the same name. Probably not the best traffic to convernt to poker players.

Could be... Anything for money. And that is for most companies

eNom now requires positive identification of anyone who wishes to bid more than $200 on a name. If a bid is not paid, we can then ban you from bidding in the future, and with positive ID required, creating throw-away accounts is not an option.

It's not a perfect solution, but it's a start. I'd love to hear your ideas on what else we could do (including, please, how it would be done. It's one thing to say "ban them" but another to explain how we know who "them" are).
