Every once in a while, I have a name on my list at Expirefish or Namewinner that I am really not crazy about, but decide to let it reg it for me anyway. Today while doing my handregs, I noticed that there was a name on my list at Namewinner that dropped at about 2pm this afternoon. I decided I'd wait and see just how long until they snatched it up for me.

It is now 8:45 and Namewinner has not made the grab yet.

Just thought I would pass that on in the "for whatever it's worth" category.

Hi 2gajgops, you probably should hand reg the name if you still need it. NameWinner might have taken a holiday and "forgot" your name :). NameWinner should be very quick if it gets the name, it beated SnapNames a few times for me. Of course, NameWinner had been beated by SnapNames numerous times too.

Hi proprom, it could vary a lot. The fastest time for me was after 1 day, and slowest was near 1 month . If you don't get the name after a week, you'd better email them.

Yesterday I was able to register classica.org (NSI drop) before namewinner could register it, It had $25 bid, why are they so slow? Is it because now there are so big lists? After they changed the min bid to $8,75 they have no success with high profile names? And also no sucess with low profile names? Namewinner is becoming worthless to me:sad:

Thats concerning... 2gajgops how about an update, have they picked it up yet? Does namewinner only go for names during their daily downtime or are they clicking 24hrs a day??

The name has still not been grabbed yet. They grabbed another name for me since this all started, so it is very strange why this one will not get picked up.

I added funds to my Expirefish list this morning at 5am, and they haven't gotten it either. Of course that could be because it was already available when I added more funds?

Very strange. Maybe Mark could have somebody check it out?

Kind of Off topic.

I am looking at a domain. Somebody else has a snapback already on it. I just placed a bid on namewinner. From the htread it look like it is a waste of time when it goes head to head with snapnames.

So what are my other options? expirefish ?

Thanks,

I agree that NameWinner is worthless in most cases :)
However, it might work well for names of some registrars which don't have constant drop schedule. ;)

Is snapnames and namewinner the only 2 options? What else is available? If anything.

I just got OLB.NET for $78 from NameWinner, I've no complaints (for this time :D). I was also holding a SnapBack for this name.

they are kinda ok after NSI names..... but sometimes not that good.... snapnames always won over 90% cases where namewinner has bids on...

So you are saying namewinner will lose 9/10 if the name hasnt been registered by NSI ? 10% chance would be very low !
can anyone confirm this ?
