i bought an expired domain that used to be an AAA auto club. It has AAA in the name. However, AAA says their name is trademarked and doesn't like it.

I have clearly labeled that we are not AAA.

Will i be able to hold unto the name, since it does contain AAA, and i do have a competing insurance product on the website?

no, you will lose very quickly. The UDRP is explicity designed for the purpose of taking domains away from people who are so blatantly misusing them.

Provided it is made clear that there is no association between you and the American Automobile Association, you may be entitled to make nominative use of the domain name even if you are profiting from such use. Depends on what the domain name is and what your web site says. However, I do not recommend that you specifically identify the domain name in public.
