It does not state the percentage. I got $7. You wont get rich of this. Netsol does.

There was a threat in this forum when someone said that it was 12% I believe. But I can't find the threat anymore. You can ask the new owner how much did he pay. :-D

A previous owner of a domain I bought told me.
Noone has confirmed.

The thread you listed above did not vanish. But, it was closed!!!

A summary of what I found out was that Network Solutions pays the
former owner 15%* or 20%* of the net proceeds of what Network Solutions
receives after expenses. (I call it "hush money".)
*Depending on how the former owner originally purchased it from NetSol.

And, possibly Network Solutions and Snapnames work on a 60/40 split.

Therefore, the max. commission is probably around 10%-12%.

The person that quoted to dvdrip probably guess-timated around 12.5%

The vanished thread was about voyuer.com at snapnames. Had 15+ posts. Deleted without any reason.

This was not a guess-timate. I bought the domain for $360. Previous owner got $45.

Or, are you asking me to confirm that the former owner got $ 45. ?

Therefore, taking your information as fact.
And, knowing what Network has published.

Here are two probable scenerio (s).

Sale Price.............. $360.00
NetSol cut (65%)... $234.00
Net profit (Grs. Profit - $6.) $228.00
20% of Net Profit... $45.60

Sale Price........... $360.00
NetSol cut (63%).. $226.80
20% of Net Profit... $45.36

"I" do not know the percentage split between Network Sol and Snapnames.
Therefore, it is only a guess.

So if someone has the name expiring from netsol he/she can push up the auction by bidding (its risky I know) or have friend/friends do that?.

I have a feeling that it happened already to one name I registered and wanted bad ...the user in question whoever is is a excellent bidder and knows always when to stop when a new bid is not made...I paid three times what I wanted to pay and as always he knew when to stop so he did not get it... funny stuff makes you think ....

He or she is monitoring your response time at the final minutes of the end of the auction. The moment you start showing growing signs of hesitatation in response to an OUTBID prompt, its time to prepare to pull. Normally, a lag of about 1 min or more, and you are in dead zone. Shillers start pulling out even if its 15sec of lag. You especially become a read-in-a-book target in the last minutes.

Shillers are a menace to fair price. They delight in stringing people along like a game to see how high you can make the guy pay, with the sole intent to get out on time.

I dont think my hesitation was easy to see as I decided a max I would go for as the price was increasing... if I would own a drop catching service and control the bidding who could control me and my employees from pushing up the auctions that are potentially interesting with lots of interested bidders ?.

I has happened now two times two me with names that do have typein traffic
and are very good for their market....I paid what I paid as I wanted the names for development so no problem there.... I just hate to think that a company controling the auctions take advantage making prices go up ... not saying they do this but sometimes you see the same users pushing up the prices... could well be what you said... anyway I have better things to do than play around making people pay more just to have some fun...

Yes you do have a very good point there ! ... but I have and prob some other people too let names expire that are valuable for other people/end users waiting for them thinkin they will get it for reg fee .... ofcoz my names that dropped were not in netsol ... since years
