It's amazing how much available money is floating around in the business world these days, looking to buy up assets. Seems the problem is that there is more money than assets, given how low interest rates are.

Maybe the new owners will put a stop to "tasting"?! Just wondering out loud if the tens of millions of dollars being held by Network Solutions were included in their "assets" column for valuation purposes!?

Might the new owners also sever their ties with SnapNames in order to go it alone now that the precedent has been established by GoDaddy (TDNAM), Enom (Club Drop), Tucows (DomainAuctionService), etc.? Or maybe they could buy SnapNames now with little fuss?

Web Identity:

Great Point about severing ties with Snapnames.
There is major money here, one can do the basic math by adding up the domains posted on DNjournal on a weekly basis. Further DNJournal does not include the domains that sell for less than 2k.
