I've got a client with a domain at Network Solutions that is due for renewal on 16th March. NS want $35 per year to renew which is daylight robbery. I tried rather half-heartedly to transfer the domain to enom and it was failed.

Before I cough up the $35 fee I was wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper way of renewing the domain at Network Solutions?

If you have the correct Admin Contact e-mail, there shouldn't be any problem transferring domains out. You may want to give it a try again. From my own experience and those reported by others, the "good old days" when NetSol messed with outbound transfer requests have actually been dead and gone, to a very large extent.
