Values will definitely increase. Non-eligible domainers should quickly clue in that they're now invisible, and don't have to worry as much about presence requirements. Hence, more bidders, equals higher bids.

not true, CIRA still holds the true registrant data they simply don't display it to the public. CIRA will continue to perform their Registrant Information Validation (RIV) and they will continue to delete domains if the registrant does not meet the Canadian Presence Requirements.

Yeah, right. CIRA is sure aggressively verifying presence reqs., and POOL doesn't benefit whatsoever from non-eligibles bidding up prices.

( eg. warfarin.ca reg date Mar 2003 http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/decisions/html/2004/d2004-0038.html )

5.5 YEARS - yes, that's diligence.

To those who have already turned off their privacy, is the option there to turn it back on, or is it a permanent change to the account?

Has anyone conducted a transfer to someone yet since the changes? Do you still get to see the name of the person who is to receive the domain?

Yes you can turn it back on if needed, and yes I've done 2 transfers and was able to see the name of the receiving registrant as usual!

Cheers,

Jay
