Hi all :)

Picked this one up a couple of days ago at Pool. Any thoughts on value? Seems to be getting 40 real uniques per day (after I filter out spiders).

I'll probably develop into a help forum for newbies :)

Thanks!
Chris.

Nice one Chris,

As you may or may not know I’m not the biggest .net fan however this one works perfectly with the extension (which probably explains the type-ins). Traffic alone would put this name at high $$$ IMO, might even achieve low – mid $$$$ is you find the right *motivated* end user.

Good Luck :)

I entered phase II at about $450 - the high bid was $799 with zero active bids. At that point I didn't bid so I am not sure if it ended at $799 or not. Nice name, definitely develop.

I wondered who may have picked this one up. I never got into the game, but would have dropped 400-500 on it. Its worth twice as much, imho. Nice name.

Come on, guys. Chris is asking for an appraisal -- not "how-much-you-would-(or-did)-bid-at-Pool". Two totally different figures...

Easily $8-10,000 in the retail market. Here's why -- newbies.net is ideal for a offline marketing campaign. If you put together tutorials and FAQs on the most common Internet faux fas, and can steer everyone "new to the net" to this site (TV advertising, banner ads), you can make a KILLING. Just imagine if you were the FIRST person to tell people about every sucker deal out there? We're talking monster dough here.

Good name which I also like a lot but really $10K seems very high. After all it's only a NET. I can only see newbies.com perhaps going for that much.

I have seen top net's sell for $10000 to $20000 (much better than this one), whereas the coms were worth perhaps a million.

Definitely -- I would say the .com would be worth $100-$200,000 easily. However, I really like the .net here, though. Especially if the domain was marketed right. Newbies.net specifically pertains to "net newbies". There is also alliterative appeal to this .net.
