I got NHL.cn - National Hockey League :D lol. China's growing in sports, at least 1 in a billion people has to be a good hockey player!
If not, I can always sell it to these guys:

Any ideas on value? Thanks

BTW, do you think I could get into trouble with the NHL for this name?

If it wasn't for the TM issue and the pethetic tld...you may have had something.

As a matter of fact you still might? Since when has china honored any international TM's?

Yikes!

I'm not sure if the NHL is well-known in China...

Something may get lost in the translation.

heh, I don't intend to fight in court, whether China or Canada. But damn, this business is serious. I found an image on their site. LOOK! The president of china and some other important people.

I wonder if I could get my hands on some dirty government money...

*The past president is on the left in the green coat with the russian hat and thick glasses. I believe they've elected a new leader now though, i think he may be in the picture too.

I found another one: http://www.nhl.com.cn/visit3.jpg

Looks like the president is meeting with US/UK businessmen.

NHL is a public listed truck company in China so I fail to see how there could be a tm issue with the hockey league in the USA.

Obviously little or no research going in to appraisals.

And as for being a pathetic tld, well this forum is for people to give their opinions and for others to concur or disagree should they so wish.

I like it.

dotus, do you ever get tired of sniveling.
You always seem to follow my posts with your whiney little attitude. Why don't you just head back over to DS where you belong.
Cheers!

TM - this will cost you much more than $30 in the long run. Dump it now.

Become a monk in China, and you may have something here. If you so much as breathe the word 'hockey', the TM boys will hunt you down!

You are right about the trucking company tho. As far as I know about trademarks, more than one company can use the same one, in certain cases, as long as there is no conflict of interest between them.

Abbreviations are a little easier to do, but when you have something with a made up word trademark, like paypalmoney.com or something similar, is where you will get trouble.

As far as value is concerned, I think you will need to put some sort of site on it for value.

I wound up in a legal mess with the NHL. While the attorney was polite (but firm in his stance), he demanded no less than me turning over the name I had. After it was all said and done, the NHL reimbursed me for my reg fees. That is what I would ask of them. The NHL is made by its famous trademark. They will protect it at all costs. Asking for more (if you do) is inviting trouble.

Good luck.
