I'm just blown away by these numbers today (from sibername)

makeup.ca $11000

icecream.ca $4500

mortgagecompany.ca $3500

hotelreview.ca $3500

inktoner.ca $3500

condosforrent.ca $3500

liquorstores.ca $1000

Makeup and icecream I can understand. But after that ???? The numbers are crazy. (or good for our future portfolio value;) )

I'd say good for our portfolios and a reminder not to forget to renew ;-)

I really wanted makeup.ca but only invested 10 mins to tbr this week. It's worth 10k or more imo.

i have a great condo domain (two words .ca) and although it has little traffic the clicks go from 1-4$. being a three worder I didnt have alot of interest but another real estate dot ca i have (sellmyhouse .ca) gets decent traffic. even recieve offers here and there but never over 500 yet.

hotelreview.ca $3500

Wouldn't catch me paying a tenth of that for that one. No backlinks, and no real history.

That market is so over-saturated you would have to dump a heck of a lot of money into marketing to capture enough market share to just pay back the purchase price - then you are still stuck paying back the marketing money! LOL

I got three of the four I wanted at nearly regfee. All perfect for affiliate websites. One or two sales and my investment is already paid for!

Makeup I can see, that stuff sells online.

I can't see any of those domains exceeding $350 nevermind 3500. Maybe inktoner a few bucks more....

There was obviously a lot of big bucks playing in today's drop.

Looks like some one either won a 649 or a HUGE sale.. it was from no where that these bids started coming and I did'nt know that makeup.ca was at 11K. I thought it was 5K only.. but wow.. I also feel hotelreview.ca was a waste of money and whoever paid that will regret soon. Mortagecompany.ca too is ridiculous, since no one is going to call their comapny just Mortgage Company, but instead.. XYZ Mortgage Company. So that again is a loss. But the others are nice domains, but I can't justify the bids.

I'm kind of wondering if there was a shill or bs bidder involved. The domains were at small $$$ (under 1-200 for most) up until a few seconds before the end. :?:

Sibername did get hotelreview.ca and if you check the whois the email is still their temporary tbr one - which changes when you pay for your domain...

Could have been someone screwing around.

A lot of .ca domains you see advertised on tv and in print by many Canadian companies make these ones look like premiums. Most of the domains above could easily be used in advertising, they are common terms, and the prices are just a drop in the bucket to most companies advertising budgets. All of these domains would also pass the 'radio test'. Let's see if these sales get reported in dnjournal to give them some credibility.

Looks like Pool is sending out emails to all their Registrants about the potential in .ca domains, which is creating this mad rush for .Ca domains these days and crazy bids too....

Anyone got any predictions on what Escorts.ca will go for or be bid on at sibername?

I'll say:

Escorts $15k
Wills $5k
Storms $1k

I guess I was a little off :p Final bids on the three I mentioned: (at sibername)

escorts.ca $30000
wills.ab.ca $5500
storms.ca $200

OK

mortgagecompany.ca $3500

hotelreview.ca $3500

inktoner.ca $3500

condosforrent.ca $3500

all these are still sitting in TBR hold status with the various drop companies. It doesn't seem like any of them have been paid and cleared??
