First Counter $1400

Second offer $500 - with a comment "this is my final offer"

Throw him a $1k counter, and explain that's as low as you will go. Unless you're willing to accept the $500 then just take the $500.

If you've held this since 2006, there's no reason to let it go for so little now. You're almost $200 deep and $500 is not something I would accept for that, let alone $1000.

most of the registered names in this niche` are parked and listed for sale.
the forex trend had reached it's peak a couple of years ago, right before the crypto craze, which is where all the sucker money is going now.

your name is about the best pairing, at the price listed,
and if nobody is willing to bid higher than $500 over the years, then.....

BTW: what's the traffic stats on the domain, are you getting any visitors/ clicks, etc.

Low four figures is a deal. Domain has 10 to 12 uniques / month, earns about .50 per click; no cost to hold it.
