Hello,

I have received email from Kevin Lynch who claimed to be Marketing Director of Creative Media. He showed interest in buying my domains Fingering.info , Fingering.biz and PregnancyTest.us

Since the emails came from a gmail.com address and not from a Creative Media email address, the wording in all three emails were similar and all were sent within 1-2 minutes from each other I have my doubts about it.

Anyone else received such emails recently ?

Thanks,
URLtrader

PS: Please appraise Fingering.info, Fingering.biz , PregnancyTest.us

I received the same email today.....

Hi,
Seems like my mailbox doesn't work properly, I'm resending my message:
I am the Marketing Director of Creative Media.
We want to make you an offer to buy broker.info domain name.
How much would it take?

Is it a trick??

I got one too asking about one of my adult names....

I checked whois... saw Yakov.... but that only shows as the Registrar provider or something... & AFAIK Yakov only likes .com & .us.. creativemedia.com whois email is also using a gmail address...

Will be interesting to see how these turn out...

Yes, I got it for a .biz name too.

I just received a ton of those messages on .BIZ, .INFO, & .US!

To tell you the truth, that spam made me feel a lot better than the Viagra spam!

ever thought it might be someone who actually *does* want to buy those names?

That appears to be Yakov. The phone number in the WHOIS for creativemedia.com is the same as for mg.com:

http://www.whois.sc/creativemedia.com
http://www.whois.sc/mg.com

I just deleted them without replying.

I just received the exact same email for my domain name teach.biz

I guess I'd be willing to sell for the right price...assuming it's a legitimate inquiry. What kind of 'hoax' or 'scheme' might it be?

Is this person just fishing for bargain domains, maybe? I'm not going to part with teach.biz cheap.... I like it too much.

Regards,

Katherine

Just curious, what would you guys want for teach.biz if you owned it?

go the email too.......

what kind of serious developers have google ads on their site like www.CreativeMedia.com does? smellss fishy...

Hmmm.... Seems like a great way to generate some traffic on your website.....

Maybe that's all this is. You contact a large group of people in a way that makes them think what you are sending is not spam, and that you are offering something they want (in this case, to buy their domain name) and they check out your site to see who you are. Then the hits on your website would go through the roof. If you've got ppc or something that pays you for displaying an ad, then you'd make some decent money too. Dude, that's pretty ingenious..... Sneaky, but ingenious....

Kinda wish I'd thought of it first.....

Sure looks like Yakov to me. But apparently, Yakov aka: Blink, thinks that is an absurd assumption (or as Yakov so eloquently puts it, "a stupid missasumption") for Nametower, myself, or anyone else to think it is him. I guess we are all stupid then, and Yakov is the only genius around here. Is "missasumption" a word? lol

CreativeMedia.com looks like a sham to me; a makeshift site thrown up overnight, designed to give the appearance of a legitimate media outfit, but is really just an alter-ego of some domain speculator involved in the harvesting of the public whois records and engaged in the sending of mass unsolicited generic emails with an unknown and rather suspicious motivation behind the whole thing.
