As you may have heard a few days ago, it seems that some scammers have figured a way to kill the bids on may of AdSense's highest paying keywords.

Given that many people have gotten killed with many payouts dropping to a 1/10 the previous amount ( I have heard).

SO Has anyone heard what the response is?

Will rates ever go back up?

I'm not even quite sure what you mean.

Do you mean the "impression spam" ?

Yeah .. I guess profezor is referring to the impression scam.

Whats' the "impression scam". It not someone just refreshing the page is it?

If you have an ad running on google that has a low click through rate for a keyword, that keyword becomes disabled. So what these scammers do is, they pause thier ad and then refresh a page with competing ads until thier keywords get disabled because thier click ratio is too low. So instead of having to pay 50 cents per click to stay at the first position, they can pay 5 cents because they are the only ad that hasn't been disabled.

Quite sick if you ask me.

I was wondering why my clicks have gone from paying me average .40 to average .05 in the last week or so.

Many of my adsense channels are down, but some are recovering. I'm not sure there is too much that Google can do because it's designed as a "free market." They sould like they are working in better fraud-detection tools, but that will take time.
