I was touting how great the Verizon Droid was.

And it is a slick device. Great for surfing the web, texting, etc from a smartphone.

Countless apps and cool stuff.

But, that's were the praise stops.

As a Phone, it sucks!

I have had dead zones in my own house where I loose the signal.
The person speaking on the other end sounds tinny - like talking in a tin can.
They also report breaking up of words as I am speaking.
Folks that I usually talk to ask, did you get a new phone?

It is made by Motorola. I do blame them for the poor quality of calls.
And I blame Verizon for the poor service in my area.

Seriously, overall I would rate this as very low call quality and clarity.
It reminds me of the earlier Motorola bricks we used to carry.
That's where the saying Can you hear me now? came from.

So this is going back to Verizon.

Next up?

The Google Nexus One Droid phone.
Just now delivered to my house.

This is a first T-mobile account I have had so I am not sure what to expect.

As I mentioned, I just got it delivered today.

The call clarity and quality far surpasses the Motorola Droid.

I have made a few calls today/evening on it and I am very impressed.

I asked the people on the other end I sounded to them and had great responses from all...no speech breakup, good quality on both ends.

Lol, sorry forgot to add a word [ initially ].

But yeah, I love this phone, very slim, light weight, great reception, awesome call quality... the camera is fantastic. The GPS (which I believe is now standard) is awesome, gave my Garmin to my brother and I cannot wait for them to finish the voice action, which works, but not very good. I will have to list some must-have apps a bit later when I have more time.

Cool live wallpapers too aye?

Enjoy
