One-word domain names

I got several clients who are interested in developing some good one-word domain names. However, given the economic condition, they have a budget of $300-$400 each. But, we may be able to purchase several of these simultaneously.

Your budget of $300 - $400 is for development, or for the "one-word" domains themselves?

If it's the latter, you will have to be content with some exotic TLD's like, .in, .cc, .ws etc.
