This may have been broached before, but, are these appraisals anywhere near close to a market value.

For example I just put through my nw domain developed.org and it came up with 81496.8 US Dollars . Now I didn't enter in all perfect scores etc, just what "I" considered true as below:

Domain Name: developed . org
Number of Characters: Five To Nine
Hyphens in Name: Zero
Abbreviations in Domain: No
Accuracy of spelling: Perfect
Number of words in Domain: One Word
Demand/Prosperity of target buyers: Good
Is the Domain Generic: Yes Very
Is the Domain memorable: Memorable
Commonality of component words: Very Common
Numerals in Domain: None

Is it just a matter of over inflating a price in order to get the visitor to come back and lok at the rest of the site or what?

Cheers

Automated domain evaluations can be used for fun, but not much else. There's no substitution for an expert opinion or an actual buyer with offer in hand. I have a Windows program that automates domain appraisals, but I don't take the numbers all that seriously. Here's a sample appraisal from the program, for your domain. In this case it seems a little closer to actual value than $88k Enjoy! :)

Dot .orgs are a little more difficult to appraise. My appraisal would be in the $1000-1500 range if you found an interested buyer.

I've seen some great dot org's sell for super cheap lately. I myself purchased daughter.org, downhill.org, captive.org for under $20 each on this forum.
