I read the thread about the new Redemption Grace Period (RGP) for .org

But it looks like .org's have stopped dropping ?

Therefore do we now have to wait 30 days ?

Like we did for .com and .net RGP

Yes, no .org drops for a few weeks. :(

who wants .org anyway? :D

What about .org's that have a status like this:

PENDING DELETE, HOLD

RMF

Thanks for the..

info

Get your lists together and keep good records, there will be a bunch when they do drop again.

Yes, the rgp is in effect, there is the 30 day rgp, after that the domain goes into a pending delete status and then released to the public.

How long does pending delete now last for? I've seen some that have been in pending delete status for nearly two weeks.

I have seen some in this state longer than 2 weeks. My list keeps growing. I cannot wait until they start dropping again.

But, when they start dropping, what time will they drop?

Are they going to the same time structure as Verisign?

Obviously, they would not drop at the same time as Verisign. But, would they drop at "one" particular time?

Or, multiple times like they have in the past?

PIR says when a name reaches expiration it will be On Hold for 15 days - then go into a 30 Day Redemption period. That is followed by 5 days in Pending Delete before it drops. I think you are seeing those names sitting in pending delete longer because the clock has been stopped for 30 days to allow for the new RGP period. My guess is when the 30 days are up (around July 7) the clock will be restarted with those names in pending delete dropping soon after resumption of the cycle.

I've heard no word on whether PIR will move to a set drop time each day or continue dropping them at random times as in the past. As they are bringing a new orderliness to the process I kind of expect them to go to a set drop time though I would prefer that it remain random as it gives individuals a much better chance to grab names on their own.

Duke,

Thank you for the info.

Random drops raises the chance that us "average" catchers can catch a few better names. But, in realty, BD and the gang will just set the computers to run a longer span of time.
