I'd be glad of an appraisal of this name. It was registered by me in 2000 and all the other dotwhatevers are taken, as are those for the alternative word (geranium), both single and plural.

It gets small but regular clicks on Sedo and would possibly do better if I knew how to optimize the landing page properly.

Yep. The plural would be worth mid/high four figures on the reseller circuit I would think. The singular, high $$$, perhaps very low $$$$.

Why so low? It is a one word and it seems to have about 50% as much popularity as "Geranium"

Is it $XXX-$XXXX "reseller value"?

1. It's the singular version. As I mentioned above, that, imo, makes it much less valuable.

2. It's a fairly specialised word. Most people probably know them as/call them Geraniums not Pelargoniums.

3. Most of the people who would want this name (specialist nurseries/societies probably won't have a massive budget).

Thanks for the explanation, my question was in reply to rentdn, hadn't seen your first comment yet.

In this case there are a lot more searches for the singular.

Google monthly search volume (global):
geranium 301,000
geraniums 74,000
pelargonium 60,500
pelargoniums 5,400

That's true but ask yourself this... what would you prefer for your website selling pelargoniums - pelargonium, com or pelargoniums, com

I reckon you'd pick the plural, right?

I trained in Horticulture so I've got a bit of a soft spot for related names. Plus, can't beat a hanging basket of Ivy leaf Pelargoniums :ok:

I agree plural would be the best for this

My favourites are the fancy-leaved ones, Rob. But the ivy leaf ones are lovely also - they're very big on the (European) continent especially, I believe.
