But, wouldn't this contradict the term "pen pal" since you use a pen?
 
insomnia: Ive pictured it as a place where "panpals" would meet, exchange their addresses, as well as emails. Ive seen many people asking over web to exchange emails to become "penapals". Its a term describing two people exchanging mails, being in contact. Whether thats over snail-mail or email, doesnt really make a difference IMO, as long as they are cool with logging on web instead of opening the envelope ;) Its cheaper and its faster and people dig it.
