This is a "blog" name with some serious stature. $xx,xxx min. end user, could even go to six fig.

I agree with www 100%.

Photocasting launched publicly by Steve Jobs of Apple in January will boom in popularity. Photoblogging is an offshoot of Photocasting. PhotoBlog & Photocast will be more popular than Podcasting starting this year and going forward.

PhotoBlog.com is a definite low/mid $xxx,xxxx to an end user and mid/high $xx,xxx to a hobbyist.

Save this thread & mark my words: "Photoblogging, Photocasting & MobileTV will be mammoth money makers for domainers & business owners."

Umm. If you can find me a hobbyist that pays $mid/high $xx,xxx please let me know as I have quite a few domains I'd like to sell him/her.

You're WAY off.

To an end user, the domain MAY be worth mid $xx,xxx. To a reseller, $x,xxx at most.

Remember, the domain is useless without promotion, development and time. Promotion will cost money and so will development. And if I'm spending money on promotion I might as well promote PhotoBlogging.com or FotoBlog.com because I can probably get those for $xxx at most and the end result will be the same.

Steve Jobs is going to be pushing his site, and spending tens of millions on his site, I don't think it will "rub off" on anyone else.

Very nice domain. Does it get any type-in traffic?

Luc:

Obviously you know WAY more than I with respect to emerging technologies.

Why did Blogster.com sell for over $100,000 without your so called promotion, development and time?

How did MyBlog.com sell for $400,000 without much promotion, development and time?

Why have I sold $xx,xxx domains to hobbyists without promotion, development & time?

not sure. but just because we disagree on an appraisal doesn't make it right for you to call me ignorant. i did not insult you in my post.

blogs will come and go, they are a fad. the few big ones that will make their presence known now will be here to stay, but i guarantee you that 99% of these so called "great" blog domains will be dropped within the next 2 years. ask any newbie on this forum how many blog names they have and they'll give you a list of a few dozen or more. everyone is trying to cash in on this blog craze but in reality only the very best and catchy domains will ever be put to use.

this is a great domain, but unless there is some company out there just itching to buy it for $xxx, xxx and then spend another $xxx, xxx+ to make it known it's not worth much in my book.

Oh the other hand, it would be quite a different story if I developed and established it first, and then sold it off eh?

videoblog .com sold last year for 21k to this public company @ xten .net

perhaps that could give some indication, even tho i personally value videoblog more than photoblog.

Do a search for videoblog on google, and it returns 1,630,000 results.

Do a search for photoblog on google, and it returns 10,800,000 results.

Overture has a search count of 1327 for videoblog, and 2863 for photoblog.

An additional thing to note, is that photoblog.com comes up #5 on a google search without any real content.

i feel that with the advent of technology and faster connections online video (dynamic content) and video sharing is becoming the latest craze.

i also said i personally value it more so no need 2 convince me otherwise.

but u got a nice domain nevertheless.

Michael,

In the future, if you are interested in selling the domain, I would call Flickr, Kodak,YouTube, Apple or a Mobile TV provider. All the aforementioned end users would be very receptive to a transaction.

Good Luck,

Mike
